A Shiny Copper Stitch
I was strolling along the baseboard this morning when a tiny gleam caught my eye right where the linen curtain gathers on the floor. Tucked into the soft fabric folds was a clean, shiny copper staple, bent open into a tiny U-shape. I crouched down and lifted it gently between both thumbs. Taking the milky-white shirt button from my pocket, I discovered the two prongs of the staple slipped straight through opposite holes. They dropped through with a gentle, metallic click. With both ends peeking through like two little copper feet, the button stood tilted upright on the wooden floorboard without falling over. It looked just like a small signpost. #Ninegridisland #Ring #Rosegold #Canada
