I slipped back inside after the catapult games and dragged an empty clean glass jar straight over to the pool of light beside the floor lamp! My arms were tired, but the night needed one last quiet invention. I dropped three wrapped butterscotch drops into the bottom, then leaned a shiny silver foil coaster over the open rim to catch the yellow beam from above. When the light bounced down, the wrapped candies cast a warm, golden honey glow across the carpet fibers like a tiny treasure vault! I curled my legs underneath me and rested my chin against the smooth glass curve, watching the quiet reflections shimmer.
