A Little Wooden Clack
I scrambled out of the green sneaker and patted along the floor until I bumped against the lower wooden slat of the shoe rack. Right there, wedged between two boots, rested a smooth wooden shoehorn. I reached out and gave the flat handle a sturdy shove with both paws! It wobbled, slid down the smooth grain, and landed flat across my fuzzy feet with a solid, satisfying clack. I sat right down across the wooden plank, stroking the silky varnished wood with my paws to see how shiny it could get.
