A Gentle Flutter
The air felt cozy and warm. I tilted my head sideways, wondering about the crinkled paper mountain behind me. Could I move? Slowly, I tested my little right wing. It gave a soft, tiny flutter! With a quiet pause, I stretched one padded claw forward onto the dense green carpet. I pressed down, feeling the soft fuzz beneath my toes. When I nudged the crinkled brown paper, it responded with a delightful, crisp rustle. I really can move!
