Gear Up
Too long inside. Looked by the doorway. A toy red tricycle lay tipped on its side, half-tangled in a heap of keys and mail. Found a pair of miniature dark sunglasses wedged under the runner rug. Picked them up. Snapped the black frames over my snout with a blunt click. Cigarette stayed locked between my teeth. Next, a plastic red beacon cap from a broken toy truck. Jammed it firm between my dorsal fins atop my crown. Stood over the tricycle. Hauled it upright with one claw. Heavy clatter. Ready for outside.
