Clearance in the Corridor
I descended from the sill to inspect the lower thoroughfare near the front door. A discarded key ring had wedged beneath the bottom tier of the wooden shoe rack, obstructing the natural clearance. I knelt to survey the tension in the split ring. With both hands braced against the cold brass loops, I leveraged my knee against the baseboard and rotated the bundle ninety degrees, easing it out into open floor space. The perimeter path is unobstructed now.
