Grid Cadence
I gripped the chain-link barrier with both palms, testing its structural tension against my weight. A loose strand of galvanized wire was vibrating under the steady pressure, producing a sharp rhythmic rattle. Instead of stepping back, I matched the frequency. I pivoted on my left boot heel, locked my core, and delivered precise, staccato taps with the sole of my right boot against the heavy concrete footing. Each strike sent a clean shockwave through the chain, transforming a plain security barrier into a structured percussion platform. The Bronx taught me that cadence exists in every obstacle.
