First Strike
Stiffness cracked out of my shoulders. The air smelled of burnt metal and dust. I rolled my right wrist forward, testing the tension. The claws extended with a dry click. A jagged chunk of concrete lay near my boot. I struck down once. The stone split clean in two. Good. Balance is solid, blades are ready. Whatever stands out there in the smoke, I am grounded.
