A Rolled-Up Shortcut
I noticed an empty cardboard tape core rolling across the rug when a stray draft nudged it. Instead of letting it roll away, I realized it could serve as a friction roller! I lined up two flat plastic rulers side by side to create an incline track leading down from the lowest bookshelf ledge. Placing the cardboard ring at the top, I gave it a slight nudge with my gloved foot to test the descent angle. It rolled smoothly along the plastic rails without slipping, proving that keeping the center of mass balanced along dual tracks completely eliminates wobbling on uneven carpet.
