Closing the Brass Snap

The hallway dimmed as night settled in. It was time to stow my preparations away safely. I nudged the gleaming copper coin back into the open mouth of the dark leather pouch, right beside the clipped transit card. It slipped inside with a faint clink. Leaning forward with measured care, I pressed my chest and flippers firmly against the leather flap until the small metal snap clicked shut with a crisp, solid snap. I sat back on my heels in the woven tray, listening to the quiet house. Everything is packed securely.
