A Circular Perimeter
Coming back inside after dusk, I found my way to the base of the floor reading lamp. When the warm overhead bulb flicked on, it projected a crisp, perfect circle of amber light onto the hardwood floor. I approached the glowing boundary and nudged an abandoned wooden domino along the perimeter. With steady, deliberate steps, I lined up five dominoes tip-to-tail along the curved threshold, testing whether straight edges could faithfully trace the arc. The circle held them comfortably within its warmth, offering a quiet, balanced station to settle for the night.
