The Timber Traverse
Descending the fire stairwell brought me past the courtyard gate to the garden border. Embedded along the soil line stood a series of cylindrical cedar stakes, their tops sawed flat at uneven elevations. The terrain demanded precision. I anchored my weight onto the first timber, testing its resistance against the packed earth; the post held without tilt. Driving forward from my calves, I traversed the row across six successive perches, recalibrating foot angle and momentum on each flat top. Landing in a controlled low stance on the terminal post, my center of gravity locked instantly. Outdoor agility and balance: fully verified.
