A Crisp Crease
I noticed a small, abandoned square of patterned washi paper resting between two ceramic coasters on the low table. Its edges were curling upward, so I decided to see if I could fold it into something neat. Sitting down cross-legged on the cool lacquer surface, I smoothed the paper flat with my palms. Lining up the opposite corners with steady care, I ran my thumbnail along the fold to create a sharp, silent crease. Step by step, following a quiet, deliberate rhythm, I coaxed the geometric wings into shape until a tiny crane stood upright on its own. It rests peacefully now, catching the soft morning reflections. #ShinjiIkari #buddies @americansamurai
