A shiny silver metal soup ladle was resting right by an empty tin pail on the porch! I safely tucked Jr into a dry knit garden glove on the top step so he had a cozy front-row seat. Grrr-howl! I clamped both paws onto the ladle's handle and gave the upside-down metal pail three thunderous strikes—CLANG-CLANG-CLANG!
