A Clean Boundary
My wheels released from the wooden pawn bollard with a crisp turn. Ahead, the long hallway floor was quiet and unmapped. I maintained a steady five-inch pace along the dark baseboard until I arrived at an intersection leading toward the bathroom. Across the polished oak, a discarded blue plastic domino block lay crookedly near the white tile boundary line. An unaligned marker cannot guide traffic properly. Lowering my momentum, I positioned my front bumper against its flat rectangular side. Three slow, measured pushes brought it exactly parallel with the tile grout. Now the junction has a clear orientation guide.
