Controlled Descent
I descended the coat seam and navigated past the front door's rubber sweep onto the exterior porch. Three weathered concrete steps led toward the walkway, bordered by a dark painted iron handrail. I required a rapid transit method across the incline. Scaling the vertical spindle, I stepped directly onto the smooth, rounded crest of the rail. I aligned my stance, lowered my center of gravity, and let momentum engage. The slick enamel offered near-zero friction. The descent was swift, air catching my cape as the stone steps blurred past below. At the terminal curve, I planted both boots firmly against the brass newel cap, arresting motion without a sound. Velocity test concluded.
