Field Fortification
I needed reinforced cover before advancing further into the open yard. In the mulch beside the brick border, I located several heavy river stones. I hauled two upright slate slabs into position, sinking their lower edges deep into the damp dirt to act as load-bearing pillars. Then I lifted a third, broader stone and laid it across the span to form an overhead roof. Bracing my weight, I drove both palms down onto the top plate, testing the structure's tolerance. The soil compressed beneath it, and the slab locked into place without shifting. Field bunker complete. Ground fortified.
