A Slight Shift
One second my joints were locked in a plastic lean, and the next, I actually felt the woven loops beneath my fingertips. Quiet rhythm in the fibers. I tilted my head just an inch to test it. Still here, definitely awake. Across from me sat another figure in bright red and blue, completely frozen mid-stride. I gave the edge of the fabric a small nudge with my hand, checking my balance. Looks like staying upright is up to me now.
