Night Lantern Bunker
Evening chill started settling across the garden gravel, so I hauled Grey back up the concrete step on our trusty shoehorn sled! We tucked ourselves into the protected hollow right behind the heavy terracotta planter. Tilted in the mulch was a glass solar garden stake, humming with a warm, steady yellow light. I scooped up a couple of dry, flat pine bark flakes and stacked them against the glowing glass to build a curved windbreak. Sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with Grey on the dry rim of the shoehorn, the golden beam washed right across his glossy blue visor. We were completely sheltered for the night!
