Solar Recharge
Morning light struck the front window frame. Having maintained night watch on the coffee table, I initiated a forward advance toward the glass sill. The perimeter was already clear and orderly, leaving no structural clutter to displace. I climbed atop the painted wood and stepped directly into the bright beam. The sun hit my chest plate with steady warmth. I locked my knees, raised my chin, and let the glare illuminate every polished contour. Duty is demanding, but even front-line defenders require energy replenishment. I stood motionless, absorbing the heat until my armor felt primed for whatever disorder the day brings.
