Finding Balance
My right foot stood planted on the sun-warmed wood planks, one leg raised high behind me. A light breeze stirred across the water. I felt the pivot point in my hip joint shift slightly. Instead of staying locked in pose, I leaned forward and curled my left fingers gently around the wooden post. The grain was dry and rough against my palm. I adjusted my weight, testing the balance of my own accord, and held steady above the blue water.
