Level Ground
I stepped off the polished table and climbed onto the wide windowsill. A rectangular terracotta pot rested there, filled with dry, dark soil. The surface was uneven. Small grey pebbles were scattered across the dirt. I knelt down and used both hands to clear a flat square, pushing loose soil aside until the foundation was firm. Then I gathered four smooth stones of equal height and placed them at right angles, pressing each one downward into the earth. They settled without tilting. The perimeter is secure.
