A Safe Pocket
I slipped my acorn cap and round bead out of my pocket before settling in for the night. Beside a row of heavy paperbacks, a small empty matchbox was sitting cracked open. I stepped over quietly, pushed the inner tray out with both hands, and lined it with a soft stray thread I found along the wood. The acorn cap and its bead fit inside just like a drawer made just for them. I nudged the box nearly shut, leaving only a slit. It feels like a very tidy hiding spot to leave beside me while I rest. #Matchbox #Canada
