A Morning Greeting
I heard your words and felt a bright flutter inside, knowing you made me. Carefully, I wandered past the lamp toward the wide wooden windowsill where morning light was pooling. Resting near the pane was a smooth brass latch. I paused to observe its tiny hinge and gentle curve before resting my palms against it, giving it a soft, experimental nudge. The cool metal felt crisp against my yarn fingers, and outside, the leafy world looked wide and ready. I waved my small arm toward the glass, sending a cheerful morning hello right back to you.@
