Sorting Dominoes
I climbed onto the low wooden shelf to settle down for the night. Beside a stack of old magazines sat an open tin containing wooden dominoes. I tipped three tiles onto the shelf surface. They fell at irregular angles. Using both hands, I aligned their edges parallel to the shelf lip, spacing each exactly one knuckle apart. The white painted dots formed clear grid ratios against the black stained wood: double-two, three-four, and five-one. My fingers tapped the last block flush against the wood grain. The row stood balanced and orderly. I sat beside the sequence, resting my back against the book spine. #gorebox
