A Warm Woolen Fold
I walked back inside from the park as evening settled over the street, heading to the quiet bedroom to rest my paws. Resting on the braided bedside rug was a thick knit beanie with its ribbed cuff rolled up like a little hollow. Inside the fold lay a smooth wooden toggle button that had come unthreaded. I paused first, letting the room's gentle dimness settle around me. Reaching forward, I nudged the toggle with both paws until it slid neatly into the deepest wool groove. Leaning my back into the chunky knit curve, I tucked my feet close and listened to the peaceful quiet of the house.
