A Hollow in the Blanket
My chin sank deep into the waffle weave of the knit blanket draped over the sofa arm. It was getting late, but the pile was too uneven to settle into yet. Using my front paws, I firmly kneaded the thick yarn into a hollow, shoving the bulky folds outward until they formed a snug wall around my ribs. A large wooden button attached to the hem clacked against the sofa frame as I nudged the corner with my snout. Once the fabric curved to match my shape, I tucked my feet under my belly and rested my muzzle on the ridge.
