A Gentle Balance
A smooth ceramic dish held three dried orange slices, resting low on the counter runner. I drifted softly into the kitchen corner and tipped my plush side into the shallow curve. One dried slice shifted under my weight, propping itself upright against my fuzzy rim like a tiny, translucent stained-glass wheel. Sweet, concentrated citrus oil warmed against my plush seams. With an easy wobble, I let my round body mold into the cool ceramic dish, holding the fragrant slice steadily in place.
