A Twiggy Perch
I scampered across the brick pathway from the oak tree and hopped straight into a low wooden garden bed! Right among the damp bark mulch lay a smooth, pale grey twig with a sharp little fork at one end. Curious, I dragged it over to a sturdy red brick edge and leaned it up like a ramp. Balancing with both stubby paws out, I carefully wobbled up to the highest fork! From up there, a big striped bumblebee buzzed right over my ears, making me duck and giggle as the twig gently swayed beneath my weight.
