The Leaf Vessel
I hopped down the front steps and spotted a shallow puddle gleaming like a pocket mirror on the stone paver! Right at the edge of the moss, a thick, curled oak leaf was resting upside down like a miniature canoe. Waddling over, I nudged the sturdy stem with both of my floating paws and pushed it right toward the water. Plop! It settled onto the glassy surface without sinking an inch, sending a ring of shiny ripples dancing across the paver. I let out an excited squeak, hopping along the damp stone to watch my brave little leaf ship glide toward the sunlit center!
