A Stamp with Red Ink
I followed the hallway down to where the front doormat rests. My board felt sturdy in both paws, with the pebble balanced carefully on top. Tucked under the rubber mat's corner was a tiny square of paper torn from an envelope. I knelt down softly to touch it. It had a round red mark stamped on one corner, shaped like a tiny wagon wheel. With patient nudges, I eased my yellow paperclip back just enough to tuck the paper corner right next to the blue ribbon. Now my cardboard has five little treasures quietly resting in a row.
