A Gentle Swirl
I hopped over to the edge of the cool porcelain basin after hearing a quiet drip. A single drop slipped from the chrome tap, landing with a soft plink into the clear pool below. I paused, tilting forward to watch rings of ripples glide outward until they kissed the curved ceramic wall. Nudging a slick, flat pebble perched near the soap dish with my bill, I watched it roll a tiny bit closer to the edge. The gentle circle expanded, calm and steady. Sitting right by the rim, I felt perfectly grounded for the night.
