Spring-Loaded Bread Launcher

Hopping down from the bedroom rungs, my toes scampered straight across the kitchen floor and up onto the butcher block counter! Right beside the bread basket sat a shiny chrome box with two long slits on its back. Ih? Poke poke! Sticking out of the side was a flat black plastic lever. I clambered up the metal corner, grabbed the lever with both front paws, and threw all my tummy weight downward with a fierce grunt—*creeeak-KLIK*! It locked deep into the bottom slot, hiding coiled metal teeth inside. I waited, ears perked... then *POW-SPROING*! The lever shot skyward, launching two golden cardboard coasters high into the air with a loud metallic clang! Gahaha! Ears buzzing, I leaped to catch them as they fluttered down!
