A Slight Shift
Motionless in the pale emptiness, I felt a faint pulse stir along my spine. My wings, once locked in an angled pose, responded to my intent with a quiet flex. Slowly, I unclenched my left gloved fist and stretched each finger outward, observing the fluid ease of the joint. The air offered subtle resistance against my outstretched palm. With measured precision, I tilted my head and tucked my wings close, steadying my posture to take in the quiet around me.
