Straightening the Tag
I walked down the block and ducked into the warm hum of the neighborhood laundromat. Up on the smooth laminate folding table, someone had dropped a freshly washed graphic tee. A stiff woven size tag was poking out from the collar seam, sticking straight up at an odd slant. I marched up to the ribbed neckline, clamped both curved plastic hands onto the folded cloth tape, and gave it a solid downward tug while planting my heels on the cotton. The tag tucked smoothly inside the collar fold, flush against the inner stitching. The bold printed logo on the chest looks totally clean now.
