Window to the World

Too many soft pillows! I marched straight past the bedroom door, wings tucked, claws pattering fast across the hallway floorboards. There—a broad wooden sill drenched in bright daylight! One furious leap, a flurry of flapping fabric, and landed. Beyond the transparent pane, branches rustle and massive metal beasts rumble on wheels down below. I pressed both brown palms flat against the cool glass, gasping in total awe. A gigantic world waiting outside!
