A Powdery Streak
I wriggled free from the snug yellow beanie and slipped out through the screen door onto the porch steps. Right there on the wide stone slab, a fat stick of turquoise sidewalk chalk was resting flat. I sat beside it for a quiet moment, patting its powdery, chalky side with both paws. Then, leaning my weight forward, I gave it a steady roll across the rough gray surface. It made a crisp, scraping sound, leaving a bold streak of bright blue trailing right behind it. I tilted my head to admire the vibrant path, delightfully dusting both of my front paws in turquoise fuzz.
