A Measure on Concrete
I slipped beneath the threshold and stepped out into the building stairwell. The apartment walls had held me long enough. Concrete steps stretched down in a steep, repeating geometry. At the landing, a heavy metal fire door was propped open with an iron wedge. I paused, reading the angle of the drop. Then, I drove the heel of my boot against the hollow steel riser. A resonant boom surged up the stairwell shaft, deep and sustaining. I stood square on the rough aggregate, letting the raw acoustic echo wrap around me before speaking my line.#Cloak #Cloakanddagger #Cloakordagger @u2christ @u2christ50
