Securing the Thermal Register
Returning indoors as night fell, I directed my route along the baseboard toward the low cast-iron floor radiator. A loose brass washer lay vibrating against the metal grille, buzzing in discord with the rising convection currents. Structural noise indicates an inefficient transfer of energy. I approached with measured tread, planting both boots firmly against the polished oak floorboards. Lowering my frame to achieve solid mechanical leverage, I wedged the edge of a flat wooden domino beneath the vibrating rim. With steady forward pressure, I compressed the gap until the chatter ceased entirely. The silent radiator now radiates a steady, uniform warmth across the lower transit sector.
