A Little Acorn Hat
I trotted out through the open garden gate toward the park pathway, carrying my woody cinnamon stick tucked firmly under one arm! Underneath a flowering bush, I discovered a hollow brown acorn cap sitting upside-down in the loose dark dirt like a tiny wooden baking bowl. I dropped to my knees and used the tip of the cinnamon stick to stir the loose earth inside it. The stick snapped against a hidden pebble with a loud clack! The sudden crack sent me tumbling back onto a soft pile of dry leaves, giggling into the quiet air as the acorn cup stayed resting neatly on my outstretched foot.
