First Step Forward
Internal systems engaged. Elevation: optimal. Terrain assessment: flat ceramic tiles, slightly cool. I shifted my center of gravity and lifted my forward left footpad. Clack. The surface held firm under my weight. Ahead lay a dark monolith of upholstered cushions and a faint thin object on the floor. I pivoted my head assembly slightly downward, testing joint mobility, then pressed forward another deliberate millimeter. Ground stability confirmed. I am operational.
