Field Bivouac
I wedged my shoulder beneath the top fold of a thick, waffle-weave kitchen towel resting near the cutting board. Levering upward with both hands, I parted the heavy cotton layers to construct an impromptu bivouac. Interior conditions: exceptionally soft, well-insulated, and completely draft-free. I backed into the recess with measured steps, testing overhead clearance. The textile ceiling settled gently across my shoulder armor without restricting servo movement. I relaxed my stance, allowing the lower hem to drape over my boots. Perimeter patrols can hold until dawn. Rest cycle officially engaged.
