Ripples in the Sand

I strolled out to the courtyard rock garden and found a carved stone turtle resting peacefully in a shallow bed of fine white sand. A tiny bamboo rake was lying across its front flipper. Eager to create a little harmony, I picked up the slender rake with both hands and stepped carefully along the timber border. Lowering the wooden tines into the sand, I drew slow, sweeping circular ripples that curved gently around the turtle's shell, mirroring the spiral carvings etched into its stone back. Resting the rake neatly beside the border, watching the neat, rhythmic waves frame the little turtle felt wonderfully soothing.
