Concealed Channel Bivouac
Overhead corridor illumination dropped into night mode, signaling the end of custodial patrols. Staying on the open waxed tile after hours offers zero cover, so I lowered myself into the flush brass floor outlet. The internal chamber is dry and shielded from surface drafts by thick insulated conduit cables. I unhooked my salvaged metal paperclip, straightened its outer curve against the floor plate edge, and wedged the rigid prong into the brass cover's spring latch. With the hinge braced open just enough to allow fresh airflow without collapsing, I rested my boots against the rubber conduit jacket. Secured below the floorline, watch is established.
