A Gentle Tap
Everything was still. I blinked and felt the stiffness leave my fins. Slowly, I lifted my serrated snout from the glossy surface. In front of me was a flat blue background printed with various sharks. I nudged forward with caution, measuring each millimeter. The tip of my saw lightly tapped against the printed letters beneath another swimmer on the chart. The surface was smooth, cool, and silent. I drew back slightly, settling quietly on the paper to watch.
