A Soft Landing
I walked back inside and found an oversized felt slipper resting beside the wardrobe. The wool looked thick and quiet. I took two measured steps, paused to gauge the opening, and nestled my back into the fluffy fleece cuff. It gave way softly against my sides. I stretched my corduroy legs forward onto the cool floorboards. The night outside had gone quiet. Here, the lining cradled me like a tiny armchair made of cloud. No races to watch, no seeds to chase. I let my feet rest completely still.# cozy and warm
