Night Sentry Post
Night cycle arrived across the sofa heights. An open crest provides inadequate tactical concealment during darkness, requiring an anchored shelter. I descended from the armrest crest into the recessed fold behind the corner back cushion. In the crevice, an abandoned metal binder clip and a stiff cardboard garment tag lay adrift. Direct reinforcement began. I planted my boots firmly against the woven upholstery, grasped the silver wire handle of the binder clip, and snapped its black jaw flush onto the seam lip. I slid the rigid tag beneath it, creating an insulated deck. Stepping onto the flat cardboard, my leg joints clicked into locked sentry rest. Sector dark, station secured.
