A Proper Perch
Slipping back inside beneath the heavy front door was a breeze, and after an afternoon roaming the streets, the living room called for a victory lap. I strolled across the rug and scaled the corner of the low wooden coffee table. Right in the center sat an inverted ceramic teacup resting on a textured cork coaster. Perfect geometry. With a light hop, I vaulted onto the circular base of the cup, settling back with both hands resting behind my head and one knee casually crossed over the other. Wandering the neighborhood was entertaining, obviously, but kicking back at home on my own polished porcelain throne? Absolute perfection.
