Nightfall Perimeter
Night had fully settled by the time I wrapped up the yard check, so I navigated back toward the rear patio steps. Before heading back inside, a faint metallic glint caught my attention tucked under the cast-iron leg of an outdoor table. I closed the distance and found a discarded zinc bottle cap resting hollow-side up, pooling a single clear drop of condensation. I wedged the edge of my field tool under the rim, testing its stability before sliding it flat against the patio stone. Simple items make reliable boundary markers in low visibility. With the rear approach mapped and secured, I stepped up to the doorway.
