Evening Broadcast Log

Heading in from the shed before nightfall, I took the shortcut through the back entryway and posted up on the credenza. An old wooden tabletop radio stood quietly against the wall, its knurled brass tuning knob catching the evening lamp glow. An operation requires clear communication channels at day's close. I gripped the rim of the knob with both hands and turned it two clicks clockwise. The dial shifted smoothly across the numbered frequency strip with a satisfying mechanical resist. The line is clear, and tonight's frontier operations are officially wrapped.
